I guess could just say I am enjoying this exchange rather than ,liking, everything.

Helluva'n ending, huh? Definitely something to fuhgeddabout. It kind of left me blank. Not sure what it says about me, but I always liked how Tony would chasten the guy at the strip club when he'd foul-up a phone call. There have been co-workers I've wanted to so instruct.

This is the mentality that our players need have after this match: I can count on one hand how many times we have been swept in the last 10 years!

I remember when she said that, it really stuck with me. It hurts both players and fans alike when their team gets swept. Very ugly way to loss; I don't know how some people don't feel that.

Not really, when Coach tells them to not get out of position and a few players ignore his advice. You can spin it any way you want but the results are the same. These are very intelligent young ladies; they know what they are doing.

I recommend, to anyone who has the time, go back and watch the PSU vs MN match again. You will see it in a totally differently light. It would be really interesting to see these two teams go at it again on a neutral court in about a month's time. If PSU were to have limited their errors and communicate better (1st and 2nd sets were bad; 3rd set was much better), at least 2 sets would've swung in PSU's favor. Considering the rally-scoring dynamic, each error is a potential 2-point swing.

These are very intelligent young ladies; they know what they are doing. But they're not intentionally getting out of position. That simply doesn't make sense.

I never said it made sense. Hopefully they will return to the teamwork we saw earlier this season.

Yes, if they were communicating and executing as an experienced team should, they would..... If my aunt were differently equipped, I'd have another uncle. Sorry.

From what I've noticed, I think part of the problem is that Russ has been using so many different DS's in the back row all season, especially even now, this late in the season, that it's tough to build proper chemistry and communication. I'm sure coach will finalize the DS's who will be in there for the majority of time during the tourney and this should help things run a little smoother. Also, I haven't noticed Lainy serving much in the past couple matches; don't know why. I remember last year she was a very good server; helped the team go on some mini-runs.

Other than a decent serve, I haven't seen her offer much defensively when she's in. Maybe that's why?

I have been watching PSU women's Volleyball since the days when Salima was a freshman. I do not ever remember the coaching staff coming to the sideline as often as they did last night and frequently there would be several of them perhaps even three of them. Are they spotting things that need changed? If so and are things so different yesterday than they were when we lost to Northwestern or Minnesota? So are they correcting in practice these repeated errors or are they uniquely different? And is that constant whispering behind the hands creating a loss of focus for the players? Do not know the answers to the questions but believe there is some merit in asking the questions.

An addenda to the above: I know that each match creates match ups that may not be quickly recognized by the players and therefore some need for comments from the coaching staff.

I didn't notice the coaches last night. As a novice, I usually keep my eye on the ball. If their presence on the sidelines is as rare as you say, it sounds like the team is collapsing, the coaches are aware of the problem, but have yet to come up with a solution. This suggests that Maryland or Northwestern could get victories at Rec Hall. It's tough to watch. Thanks for the added insight. I hope you continue to contribute.
