As always, Cross5 makes astute observations, all of which may be valid. As I noted, Minn. is playing consistently at a high level, recently defeated Nebraska. Compare how Minn. played at Northwestern vs how PSU played there. And anyone who thought PSU played well at Rutgers might consider that Indiana just swept Rutgers in 3 sets. I believe PSU could defeat Minn. if they play at a high level for 90%+ of the match. Have they done so recently against a very good team? Does their play over the last several weeks suggest that they will? If you compare PSU's performance at NW against most teams' play there you would have Penn State in the bottom half of the B1G. So I don't think that comparison is meaningful.
I think that the two teams are evenly matched and maybe Minnesota rates a slight nod due to home court advantage. But Minnesota's play is not the model of consistency that is being suggested. They too can struggle at times.
It will be a great match and could go either way.

Coaching women and men in their prime is way way different then coaching 18-21 year olds. Coach does have his habits but I don't think McCutcheon is at his level. You could be right and believe me I hope you are. I shall be closely observing the changes each coach makes after each set. It'll be interesting to see if we get a tactical battle going on. Are you talking about lineup changes with personnel or blocking and defensive schemes or rotation matchups? I would think the rotation match ups may come into play. I would want Whitney on Santana and Courtney on their best slide MH, ideally. Coach Rose has virtually the whole year started with Rotation 1 and seemingly said, this is who we are, come and beat us. Only one time that I remember where he started in rotation 2 or 3 in a game 5 with a defensive heavy package starting on the floor.

3 hours until arguably the match of the Big Ten season starts! I for one hope all our young ladies play well and with confidence. Coach Rose and the staff will have them ready. The good thing is he now has many players with court time under their belt so if someone struggles, he has options. Here' s hoping we jump on them quick and get outta Dodge. Go Lions!

Keep an eye on Frantti, Courtney, and Lee; I believe they are the key to PSU's victory.

Seems pretty even so far, no? How do the PSU player's look? Are there any communication errors, etc.
