This has the makings of a CRAZY bracket this year. It is entirely possible to see some major upsets very early. In the basketball brackets I always make an upset one and often pull ahead of others picking the 12/5 and 13/ upsets. So IF I had two brackets going I could see in the first 2 rounds: Colorado st. Over Stan. Purdue over Texas Michigan over UCLA Iowa st. or Oregon Over Wisconsin (they have difficult teams the whole way) Arizona st. Over Florida TCU over Hawaii Illinois over Louisville Arizona over BYU Kentucky over OSU MSU over Washington I agree with the craziness of the brackets this year. I was a little confused by what you meant when you wrote, "I always make an upset one and often pull ahead of others picking the 12/5 and 13/ upsets." What does that mean exactly? On a side note, wouldn't it be cool to see 2-3 teams from the Big10 in the Final Four? I just don't want Nebraska making it, they'll be tough on their home court. Poorly and haphazardly written on my part. Apologies. I make an upset bracket to get maximum points and the other brackets are closer to "chalk" going with the high seeds to advance. My point is these are the ones that could happen based on this year's strange results.

We should include Wisconsin, who I think is better than Texas. Carlini is the best setter, and Morley is a great DS. We saw what a difference Micha and Dom made in our NC run. Wisconsin's freshmen have gotten much better, and the whole team is playing very well. Wisconsin's a great dark horse pick for the championship. They have leadership and experience winning big matches in the NCAAs. A little weak at OH I think but everywhere else they're very solid.

FWIW, I've got Washington beating Minnesota in the championship match. I'll agree with Washington, but I don't think Minny gets that far. I'm not sold on their offensive capabilities. Also, their setter, Samantha S-S seemed to struggle last match and had to be replaced at some point. She's played well this year, but I hope for MN's sake she doesn't choke in the bigger matches. Anyway, I'd love a PSU-MN rematch on a neutral court. I'd give money to see that one.

You'd have to ☺ (though there doesn't seem to be a big scalping market for NCAA tournament tickets, so probably no markup)

For all those posters or "lurkers" who have not yet voted, you have until tomorrow night to cast your votes! I will be locking the poll on Thursday morning. No more voting once post-season play begins (This means you Gnu2vball -- time to commit).
Kidding, of course, you don't HAVE TO commit.

I did vote--not for who I wanted to win, but who I thought might.
I voted for USC, although my vote could have gone to Washington, or Minnesota, or Wisconsin (could I vote for them?).
I'd so like to see PSU win, but based on how they've played since the third set of the first Minnesota match, they don't look good enough.
I haven't watched USC at all, I caught a good portion of the Washington-Stanford game. I have a hard time going for Washington because a good portion of that team faced PSU in the 2013 semi and lost to Nebraska last year in a regional semi. Minnesota---they're real good when everybody is playing at their peak. Texas? Don't think so.
I'd much rather be wrong than right about PSU on this one.

I also voted for USC, but I too would rather be wrong than right about Penn State. It's time for that Rose feller to work his finals magic and miraculously get the girls playing at peak form right through the championship game. The talent is there.

Tell you what, if PSU wins, I won't claim I picked them.

That's the spirit!!!! I too don't mind admitting I was wrong in my pick if the Lions win it all, I'll be jumping for joy.
I voted for Washington, I've seen them play and they look very well balanced, much more so than USC.
Gnu2vball, I know that PSU wiped the floor with them in 2013 on their home court and Nebraska beat them last year, but they have a different, much faster offense and they're successful with it. They don't depend on just one player to put the ball down and they put up a strong block. They were definitely one of the teams I didn't want PSU to face until a final (if we get there).
Psulion, USC is the team I'd like to see win it all (if PSU doesn't get to the final), but I'm not sure they have all the makings of championship team, I hope I'm wrong.
Minnesota and Wisconsin don't have the offensive numbers (statistically) to give me much confidence in a NC. So there we have it. As for Texas, I hope Purdue or Wisconsin beat them.
For the record, I always pick PSU on the VT polls, just to bolster the PSU support.

Nebraska? The Washington-Nebraska match (if both teams roll through their first 3 opponents in getting there) could just be the de facto championship match. Wisconsin is also playing really well. I am not sold on USC, Texas or Minnesota. And of course I want our lady lions to prove me wrong completely.

My vote goes to Nebraska. Picked them at the beginning of the season, pick them now. Do not like Cook's overall coaching style, but he has the players and those players are PLAYING! Defensively, they are right up there with Wisconsin. Wisconsin is a wonderful sleeper, and can certainly reach the finals.
On a side note, does anyone else feel that Keeton should be playing libero? I have been watching some replays, and she has certainly proven she can pass a ball better than the other back row players. Her serve receive can be off with a good serving team, but she is our best dig/passer, in my humble opinion. She had a bad receiving game against 2 teams, and Kendall, whom I respect so much, was our new libero. I love Kendall's fight and spirit, but her passing has not been good enough for setter to set a good ball. Evidenced in both Minnesota and Nebraska games. Watching Keeton pass in the Ohio State games, as well as Illinois and others I have recorded, shows me she can adjust. Everyone has a 'bad game', but I think her development is wonderful. I'd love to see her back at lbero. Also, would love to see Heidi in. Her blocking presence is awsome, and she is able to free the outside hitters with good touches on D. Just wondering whether we might see her in the playoffs. Hope so! Go Lions!!
