This weeks RPI for Penn State according to the NCAA website is # 25. I wonder where they send us for the first 2 rounds? On VolleyTalk, bluepenquin and c4ndlelight--two very knowledgeable and respected (by me, anyway!) posters--note that due to the travel restrictions and what we know about other likely seeded teams, Penn State's most likely destination will be a Pac team: Stanford, Washington or UCLA. A mock bracket done has them at Washington, facing Colorado State in the first round. volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/66525/rpi-11-14

I'm not sure Bluepenquin is on board with that, though. At least I haven't read anything from him saying as much. C4ndlelight is very knowledgeable about the women's international club game, I don't think anyone knows more. But when it comes to RPI, I trust Bluepenquin's opinions implicitly. He is always apathetic in his opinions and gives the most realistic/sound predictions. I have heard others say that PSU could end up in North Carolina. No one really knows. At this point one thing is certain, PSU will have a tough road in the tourney if they lose to Nebraska (which they most likely will).

As of 11/14/16, according to Bluepenquin on VT.
Projected RPI Rank (Previous week projection) Team (Projected Wins - Losses) - SOS Rank 23. (20) Penn State (22-9, 14-6) - 24
Definitely not going to host the first 2 rounds with this outlook. This projection is assuming we lose one more match (i.e., vs. Nebraska almost certainly).

This week's RPI, according to NCAA.com, as of 11/21/16:
# 23 Penn St.; record 20-9
This will be the last one. The Selection Show on Sunday evening will tell us where we end up on the bracket.

Coaches' post match comments about the RPI raise an interesting point. It is hard to imagine that there are 26 other teams that have had a stronger schedule, if only because so many teams in the BIG are highly regarded.

There is more to it than having only a harder schedule. RPI is largely affected by how well have your opponents played (wins-losses)? On a side note, I've been campaigning on VT for Wolgang to win the annual VT Turkey Award. I think he's so deserving this year and has worked hard at it. Everyone deserves this award at least once in their lives. Get your votes in early, I think the poll closes on Thanksgiving night.

A pity there's no award for "Most Self-Absorbed." He'd be a shoo-in.
