I recently received a nice private message from a VolleyTalk poster, regarding this forum, which I thought you might enjoy:
Nyline, I think it’s wonderful [that there is] a website with exclusive content and a ProBoards forum (without ads!) dedicated to all things Penn State Volleyball for your team’s fanbase. I don’t blame any of you for choosing to discuss your program on DNV over VT. The conversations there are more engaging, inviting, honest, and uninterrupted by people who pretend to know more than actual Penn State fans. I hope you all find some time to stop by VT during the off-season, because there’s been a noticeable void of Penn State fans on here. A successful, storied and powerhouse program like Penn State will always have my respect, especially on this website.
I think the mods on VT really let things get out of control.
This site and the BigSoccer site, which I post on from time to time, are just a joy to be a part of.
The users are insightful and respectful.
Thanks y'all for making that happen.
I think Volleytalk's mods haven't kept themselves separated from extremes in discussions--they have absolutely no credibility. When they do enforce standards, they invariably decide against posters who hold positions that differ from their own.
On this site, we've been fortunate. For the most part, we've never had to face a situation that requires "monitoring" and that's to everyone's credit.
And thank goodness, we've never seen a need for a politics forum.

I religiously avoid politics on this site.
As I have said many times, even though I am ill tutored and often poorly informed, no one tries to embarrass me here. I have learned a great deal from the intelligent comments and appreciate the respectful way folks on this site can disagree.
