This is old news (it's been on DigNittanyVolleyball.com since May 2nd), but fwiw, Penn State has released the official 2015 Penn State Women's Volleyball schedule. Our formatted version (with links to opponent websites and venues) is here: Update: Penn State’s Official 2015 Schedule. We've broken the schedule down into two sections: the Pre-B1G Conference Schedule and the B1G Conference Schedule. Here are our “Quick Takes”:
Wouldn’t it be Nice? ◦Wouldn’t it be nice to be in State College from August 28th through September 5th? Two terrific weekends of volleyball. ◦It would be nice to see Illinois twice, but the B1G unbalanced schedule (a very good term for it, in more ways than one) doesn’t permit that. For some reason. Don’t ask.
Jim McLaughlin’s Fighting Irish ◦Somehow that doesn’t sound right. But we will finally get to see a Jim McLaughlin-coached team play Penn State in a non-NCAA Tournament match. Just not that previous Jim McLaughlin-coached team. His new one. The Fighting Irish.
Non-B1G Conference Opponents that Did Well in 2014 ◾Colorado: 20-14 (11-9 in Pac-12; #21 AVCA Poll) ◾Stanford: 33-2 (19-1 in Pac-12; #2 AVCA Poll) (c’mon Tree fans, they had a great season!) ◾Eastern Kentucky: 21-14 (11-5 in Ohio Valley Conference)
Non-B1G Conference Opponents that Did OK in 2014 ◾Buffalo: 17-15; (6-10 in MAC) ◾Stony Brook:17-15 (7-5 in America East) ◾St. John’s: 19-14 (8-10 in Big East)
Non-B1G Conference Opponents that Don’t Highlight Their 2014 Seasons ◦Villanova: 13-20 (6-12 in Big East) ◦Mississippi State: 7-26 (2-16 in SEC) (New Coach for 2015: David McFatrich) ◦Notre Dame: 6-23 (3-15 in ACC); (New Coach for 2015: Jim McLaughlin) ◦South Florida: 14-18 (8-12 in American Athletic Conference)
B1G in Reverse ◦The B1G schedule is pretty much the reverse of 2014 — opening with four straight home matches (two of which will be televised — Wisconsin and Nebraska) ◦On the other hand, we do get to see the Ohio State Buckeyes twice in three days (October 28th and October 30th), so there’s that. ◦Closing with Nebraska. Again. No TV? Stay tuned (so to speak).

The PAC/B1G tourney will be held on Fri and Sat Sept 4/5 @ PSU Colorado, Stanford and Illinois.
For those visiting teams the best hotels that are Walking distance would be the Days Inn and better yet the Atherton or the Nittany Lion Inn(which is 200ft) from Rec hall.
For those out of towners you are lucky as this is NOT a home Football game. I saw rooms at NLI for $140ish.

One of Haleigh Washington's high school team mates plays for Colorado. I didn't realize that the Simpson sisters (Cierra (will be a Sr.) and Gabby (will be a Jr.) went to Doherty (as did Washington). I assume Gabby was Haleigh's teammate?

Yes, and perhaps Cierra was an upperclass teammate at Doherty. I'm not sure--that was in my "pre-awareness" days. Now, I'm simply unaware of large portions of the volleyball cosmos.
