Lions gave set 1 to Northwestern, it looks like they were partying last night and are totally flat.

This PSU team is really lacking what previous teams have had, winning drive at all times, the intense will to win. Regardless of the outcome of this match, if the will to win doesn't come up to PSU historical standards very soon, the seniors will finish their careers disappointed.
Why has the PSU outside blocking been so weak lately? Outside hitters are having career games against PSU week after week.
This team has talent but is a competitive mystery.

I'm not sure it's a lack of a will to win. But they certainly lose focus and get flustered.

The chaos and inability to get back on track is so unlike PSU womens VB. Perhaps the coaching staff has not found the way to develop the talents and synergy of this group. It was obviously a big risk going with freshmen at both setter and libero but nearly every player is contributing to the poor performance.

Wife and I have been watching PSU WVB for 10+ years, maybe 15, I cannot recall another PSU team that has played so chaotically, so inconsistently so much of the time. Keep hoping nothing happens to Megan, she doesn't get hurt because without her this team would be noncompetitive against top 20 teams.
They seemed to gave regressed considerably since the Stanford and Wisconsin matches. Very unlike PSU WVB to regress midseason. It will be the coaching job of the decade if they can turn this team around. So much talent, but not a high performing team.

An embarrassment for this wonderful program. Everyone owns this fiasco, players and coaches.

It seems amazing that this team's peak was in early September vs. Stanford. PSU teams have nearly always improved as the season progresses. This team is like a wave going up and down, set to set, match to match. Getting much worse in the last two weeks. Not able to withstand the pressure of Big Ten play? Coaches not able to solve the problems?

I'm beginning to wonder who is actually coaching us now because this does not look like a Russ Rose coached team at all. I have no idea why Frantti is allowed to play in the back row. I hate to think of what will happen if Megan is seriously hurt. We will have worst back row in the conference.

My guess, and it is only a guess, is that Frantti has played backrow for two reasons (not necessarily in this order): 1) to prepare her for next season, when Megan graduates, and 2) to give the team another backrow offensive option. This may not look like past PSU teams, and that may be partially a function of coaching, but Russ Rose didn't suddenly lose his coaching ability -- his extraordinary coaching ability. What he did lose was Micha, and Dom, and Lacey, and Nia.
