I was there in person with a friend who is a former collegiate wrestler from a non-B1G school. I had a good time, and it was great to see PSU win, but I have to say, as far as the biggest viewership totals ever, I think this dual hurts wrestling more than helps it. The style of most of the matches was all defense and stalling, and honestly, I lost interest in paying too close attention for some of the individual matches. Maybe diehard wrestling fans loved it (although from what I read online, it doesn't look that way), but I think most casual fans like me were like, "why don't these Iowa guys even attempt a takedown?". The 16,000 fans in the BJC at many times were quieter than the typical crowd of 3500 at volleyball. The thing I kept hearing from everyone was, "that's just folkstyle these days". I think if that's the case, viewership might trend downward, instead of upward. Just my $0.02...

Who knew so many flowers were Penn State fans?

This is interesting -- UNC's legendary Karen Shelton (winningest coach in the history of field hockey with 10 NCAA titles as HC) retires, and UNC names Erin Matson as the program's new leader. Erin graduated from UNC in Dec. 2022. Erin is considered one of the best field hockey minds right now, and has extensive national team experience, but it seems odd to have a newly recent grad take over such a legendary program. She will now coach her former teammates. goheels.com/news/2023/1/31/legend-replacing-legend-matson-named-field-hockey-head-coach.aspx

But Matson truly is an exceptional player and person, and very possibly will be an exceptional coach.

Yup, no negative connotation intended - I have a feeling she's going to have great success as a coach. "Odd" strictly per the definition of being different from the expected.
