If anyone has any interest in the PAC-12...Rumors are swirling Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado are close to a deal with the Big-12. The story goes they are waiting for the new PAC-12 TV/livestream deal to be finalized. If it's not a blockbuster (it won't be) they are going to jump ship.
I don't know where that would put Stanford. While the Cardinal has good success in Olympic sports, it's football team is dreadful hitting rock bottom this past season.

While the Cardinal has good success in Olympic sports, it's football team is dreadful hitting rock bottom this past season. I do have interest in the Pac-12. I have no desire to see it disappear, but the signs certainly are pointing that way. A few years ago, I would have thought that fate more likely to await the Big-12. I think the steady devouring of other Power-5 conferences by the SEC and B1G, while seemingly a good thing for the revenue streams for the member schools, comes with many downsides. I wonder what happens to Notre Dame in all of this. It reportedly has an abiding dislike of the B1G and a love of its independent status, but if the Pac-12 were to disappear, and if rumors that Oregon and Washington/Stanford were considering offers to join the B1G came to pass (I don't see any actionable evidence on that right now, and may well be wild rumor), there would seem to be risk to Notre Dame's place in however the National Championship in football were to eventually shake out.

If bracketologists are correct, a win tonight sends Penn State to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament for the first time since 2011. (Or if we lose, we need some chaos to get in.)
Let's go Penn State Men's Basketball!
