You all don't think that OSU could poach one of our assistants, could they? Dennis Hohenshelt or Katie Schumacher-Cawley Anything is possible, especially when greenbacks are involved.

I think Tosu will go for an established head coach.

BTW, thanks to the OP, I went to look at Volleytalk. By the time I arrived, there were 16 pages on the thread, 17 by the time I left.
Lots of amusing posts about Steve Aird going for a 3rd B1G Head Coach role. lol.
Lots of people decrying the likes of Jones, Parker and Courtney leaving Ohio to play elsewhere and blaming Carlston for that. IMO you cannot blame Carlston for the existence of a 7-time National Championship Team and a coach like RR. But apparently, you can blame Carlston for some things.

If he ever wants shot at psu when rose retires I donβt think he can take that.

Pennsylvanian Jen Oldenburg was announced 2 weeks ago. Former OSU player, former US National Team setter, now-former head of a Pittsburgh-based volleyball club, if I understand it all correctly.
Just before that Northeastern's Caitlin Schweihofer was named head of Rutgers.

It seems a bit unusual to hire someone who has been out of college coaching (head or assistant) for the past six years, but maybe her recruiting connections through the national program and her Pittsburgh club outweigh that.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure if this is brilliant or desperate. Also so curious about other Pennsylvania volleyball personnel who may know her well from recruiting work in Pittsburgh...and what their role in this might have been.

Not sure that this counts as 'other news', but it's a huge day here in the United Kingdom......at 11pm (6pm Eastern), we left the European Union. I personally am a great believer that we will thrive as a truly independent country, but it has left the UK very divided. Still, it's done now and we have to get on with it.

The last thing anyone, or for that matter country needs is people who don't live there, telling them how to run their lives. Good luck on your independence.

I just had to post, because today is a palindrome 02-02-2020, which the last time in history it happened was 11-11-1111, and the next time won't happen until 03-03-3030, and I highly doubt any of us will see that I thought we might as well recognize today.

Our Independence Day is July 4.
Your Independence Day is January 31. I hope you like fireworks.

We probably do not need to wait til 03-30-3030 for the next palindrome. Dec 2, 2021 (12/02/2021) is around the corner π

I have lost way too many brain cells along the way.

So in the US, we can wait til Dec 2, 2021 [12/02/2021]. In other countries, e.g. UK, they can have it earlier, Feb 12, 2021 [12/02/2021]. Else, we can all get cryogenically-frozen and wake up on Mar 3, 3030. Deal? π₯Ά Interestingly, some countries in Asia (i.e. China, Japan and Korea) use the format yyyy-mm-dd so their next palindrome day will be on Dec 2, 2021 [2021/12/02] as well.
