I dislike them less w/Fawcett in and Carlston gone. BTW, didn't see Jenasia (sp?) Moore playing yesterday. Don't know what's with that.

This video explains part of what makes Russ Rose such a great coach. I remember reading some articles about him and other coaches asking him, "How do you get these kids to perform at such a high level in such an important game"?
Well this video explains part of it at least. He gave them permission to just go out and have fun. No pressure, just enjoy yourself. In spite of his desire to win, in spite of him getting upset when the players screw up, he was able and is able, to let it all go and let them have fun. I think it points back to the fact that he realizes that the important part of the team is the girls. Not him. Now we all know that they would never make it as far as they do without him, but he realizes that they are the ones who play, who need to perform, not him. And so he can put himself on the back burner, not tell them to win for him, or to win because that's what he desperately wants, but he can let them go out and have fun. Amazing.

Not that it's a big deal at all, but Nia! The 2014 championship was in Oklahoma City, not Seattle! Ha!

Let's face it, all those championships just blur together (Wish we had a few of them recently huh?) 3 Final Fours in 4 years! Also, I'm sure the location doesn't mean as much to the players who are on a business trip. Who cares if you're in Seattle, in OKC, or on Mars!

Well judging from this NASA footage released yesterday, that Mars Final Four would be pretty darn memorable. The real downside would be the class-time missed during the trip to and from Mars. Well, and the no-oxygen problem. But middle blockers would absolutely love it!

Yeah, and I think they would've had 3 Championships in a row if Micha hadn't messed her ankle up. Boy are we spoiled!!! Just not recently

Just finished watching the Minn vs Neb 1st match. Minn won 3-1. Some really high quality volleyball in this match. Lots of long rallies that were really fun to watch. Minn out-blocked Neb 20-8 in the 1st match. Hitting % in the first match was .195 to .151 in fav of Minn. The score were 25-15, 20-25, 26-24 & 25-23. Last two sets in particular were really close. Minn serving was really good. 5 aces and only 3 service errors.
Haven't watched the 2nd match, but NEB won 3-0. Scores were 17, 15 and 22. Minn was out blocked 8-5 in the 2nd match and had NO aces to go along with 8 serving errors. Could be that Neb adjusted really well to the Minn blocking in the 2nd match. Who knows. Minn was out-hit .300 to .153 Tho I haven't watched the 2nd match, it sure looks like Minn was sky high in the first match and had no energy or want to in the 2nd match. They seemed to have used up all their energy in the 1st match.
In a way, these two matches reminded me of some PSU & OSU pair of matches. Even tho MINN is way better than OSU. Minn sky high in the first match and really low in the 2nd. I'd be interested to hear Hugh's comments about the 2nd match.
Nebraska is playing Wisc this weekend in Madison, Wisc. Will be an interesting match to watch. Two good setters , both sides play good defense.
