Oh no. That NCAA head of women's sports is gonna cry again. But like I said after Prince's bombshell last year, if you're crying, you're not fighting.

What a shocker that Mark Emmert hasn't done his job. Hard to believe. Really, the guy is a just a paragon of, well, self-promotion at the expense of everything else, so how could this possibly have gone wrong?

Well, we knew it was coming, but we didn't know when. This is big news. How about Alisha Glass?

From nyline, "Well, we knew it was coming, but we didn't know when. This is big news. How about Alisha Glass?"
Is there a joke or allusion that I am missing here?

From nyline, "Well, we knew it was coming, but we didn't know when. This is big news. How about Alisha Glass?" Is there a joke or allusion that I am missing here? Apologies -- I was going to go back and edit to make clear I was just kidding, but got sidetracked. The motivation was that when I heard the news, I immediately thought of all the speculation that would be engendered, and the preference of some Penn State fans for job openings to be filled by prominent alums. So, Alisha Glass popped into my head -- even though she has no administrative experience, just signed up to compete in the Athletes Unlimited league, would be extremely unlikely (IMHO) to have any interest in the job, and would never be seriously considered by Penn State. So I tossed out her name. Should have added a disclaimer. I actually have no idea who they will hire, but I would suspect it will be a current AD somewhere with a proven track record, or an assistant AD who is viewed as a rising star.

Well, I did understand that it wasn't a serious suggestion, but I thought there might be some background I wasn't aware of that prompted that particular name.

This is fantastic news that sandy is retiring Wonder if Russ would have retired if sandy had actually provided him the resources he felt he needed Just listened to his recent interview with mick and others and boy did he hammer his ex players and administrators. As a boston college guy and friend of Jason Kennedy I can see the lack of support that Jason receives at Bc - never had a clue that Russ felt he was not properly supported in the recent decades of his coaching at Penn state Truly disgraceful that he felt under appreciated. And sandy seemed to be a huge problem for him
