Article concludes with "This is a developing story." I don't know anything about Harper Murray. Nor do I know what independent healthcare professionals, not affiliated with Nebraska, would say is the best course of action for her. And I don't know that the decisions so far by Nebraska volleyball are wrong. But I am highly skeptical that those decisions were made independent of athletic interests. I believe the odds that Murray will be suspended for more than two regular season matches (if any) are extraordinarily slim. She will receive the deference afforded Nebraska star RB Lawrence Phillips in 1995. The theory then (see below) was he would be better off with his football "family." I imagine (but don't know) that's the same theory now -- keep her with her volleyball "family.". I wonder (and certainly don't know) if perhaps it would be better for her to take a year off away from the pressures of volleyball, to concentrate on addressing whatever it is that led to this current situation. And no, I'm not equating Harper Murray with Lawrence Phillips. Obviously much different people. Let's hope she is able to emerge better off than Phillips did (taking his own life in prison, at age 41, after being accused of murdering his cellmate): From Wikipedia: Post script: Nebraska initially terminated the basketball scholarship of the ex-girlfriend, Kate McEwen, but ultimately reinstated it: www.nytimes.com/1996/05/04/sports/nebraska-changes-mind.html?unlocked_article_code=1.pU0.I5R6.7AmyCdCNaWO6&smid=url-share

And I thought I disliked Nebraska. ;-)
