Overall, Penn State played pretty well. Not a perfect match, but good effort. Also, overall, despite their quirks, I liked the broadcast team. They did totally throw me off when they said "Last touched by Navy." Oh, Blue, that's right. it was a different, but mature, crew in the booth this morning that I liked even better. But one of these guys had coached and knew the game, which is always useful. lol.

What I saw that left me worried was double- or triple-teaming in the back court (at least that's how it looked on video), leaving no one to take the product of the dig, and a fair number of collisions while receiving an attack. Seemed like the back court was a bit unruly, not familiar with playing with each other...which shouldn't be true at this point. I immediately thought of how Lacey, Dom, Keeton knit themselves into the court so neatly. Back in the day. In my probably selective memory.

I wonder if with Kudryashova replacing Pritchard the defensive set-up was different. Watching on my tablet, it's hard for me to tell (OK, I'll be honest, if I were watching on a 12 foot by 8 foot 16K HDHDHDHD screen, it would still be hard for me to tell). Also, assuming Pritchard and Kudryashova practice equally well this coming week, who do we think starts against Rutgers (I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that Kudryashova's Rutger's background would have no bearing on that decision).

I'm sure I missed the answer to this question, but is Erika injured?

When she was subbed out in the RMU match, it looked like it was about her high error rate. IIRC she was suited up for the evening match but AK started in her place. Maybe others saw something else.
I think Coach was looking to go with the players who are delivering right now. He said something that I read or reread this week about loyalty being a problem of his...along the lines of needs to put in the best option at the moment.

Haven't seen much of Sunahara the last few years, but I thought he looked a little shell-shocked last night. Coming in 10-0 and on the verge of getting swept was a bitter pill from the looks of it. Which surprised me since Coach Rose rarely lets his face reveal how he sees things.

Fwiw, Kudryasova had the second most kills last night (9), but only hit .190.

I wasn't able to watch the RMU match.

Obviously, that is the toughest position from which to hit for a high percentage.

Net front block? Is there any other kind? Well, neither is a serve receive a "dig" and Blossom looks nothing like Parker or Kudryshova, but perhaps the play by play is a student. Anyway, it's ESPN so why should we expect quality announcing for women's sports?
