I am prone to iracibility. It's not an admirable trait, but it is one of mine, so there you have it. Having acknowledged that, it should come as no surprise that the "The Ohio State University" formulation of the name of the land grant university in Ohio annoys me. My question is, what is the point? Is there a different "Ohio State University" from which this one needs to differentiate itself? Does adding the "The" elevate Ohio State in the eyes of the world. Or should I say "The World"? Is it simply a matter of "owning" everyone else? To me, it's cringeworthy dumb. So, here's to you, el OSU (if you're going to do something that ostentatious, at least take it multilingual and Global!)

This season's team is stronger than last season's team. In the middle, Allie Holland is a near wash with Serena Gray. So far this season Allie is hitting at a higher percentage than Serena and has more blocks per set, although Serena has a slightly higher points per set number. At the outside hitting position both Adanna and Erika are playing ahead of last year's starters. Similarly Cassie is playing ahead of Maddy this year. Of course Jonni and Kaitlyn are both mainstays from last year. So, clearly this season's team is stronger and deeper that last season's team.
Today's match will go a long way toward telling us if they are better able to compete in the B1G than their early season results have indicated.

So, here's to you, el OSU (if you're going to do something that ostentatious, at least take it multilingual and Global!) I'm assuming it goes back to the confusion with Ohio University. As an OU grad, I must say the confusion almost always benefited TOSU, not us. Seems to me few folks have the same problem distinguishing MI and MSU, but there you go. I mentioned elsewhere this year TOSU held a non-conf tourney and OU was a participant. There was no TOSU mention of OU, no listing in the schedule, they were just invisible. Somehow, the biggest baddest dude in town seems a little, IDK, insecure? Might want to get some help with that.
