Again I have to offer my condolences, I hope they finish the season strong, and will be rooting for them all the way.

I wrote and deleted a doom and gloom post. Can someone share some happy thoughts so I won't (and maybe others won't) focus on our pessimistic thoughts about the season?

I wrote and deleted a doom and gloom post. Can someone share some happy thoughts so I won't (and maybe others won't) focus on our pessimistic thoughts about the season? Ho Ho! Over the last couple years Santa said Ho Ho and brought us HOlland and HOrd. ; )) PSU posted 14 ... 14!! BLs on Sunday including 9...9!!! by HoHoHolland and 5 by HoHoHord. (for the season 2.8/set) Thanks, Santa!! Does that help?? Also: I've watched OSU a bunch this year and this match seemed to be somewhat singular in their ability to cover their court on the one hand and terminate on our side on the other. Even with their record, they've seemed mercurial and we had the bad luck to play them on one of their best nights this time, one of their worst earlier in the season. We were also playing against the 2021 Spring National Freshman of the Year.

The reality is that the season has played out almost exactly to form. We were ranked sixth in the B!G and will finish sixth. PSU won a couple of matches over higher ranked teams and lost a couple of matches to lower ranked teams. Depending on the brackets the team will probably make the round of 16 before ending its season. All-in-all they have been both frustrating and entertaining. I can't think of any match where I questioned the team's effort. They are a top 20 team and many schools would love to have a team of that caliber. Unfortunately for us, we were badly spoiled from 2007 to 2014!

Great post, seeyajohn - I've only been a PSU follower since I found them on ESPN UK at the start of the 2019 season. I love the passion and commitment of the players but I understand the frustrations of those fans who were Rec Hall regulars in the glory years 2007-2014. I have said before that we might do better than people expect at the NCAA tournament. I can't get the Big10 network in England so I have to make do with YouTube highlights, but ESPN are covering every tournament game so I'll be rooting for the girls in the December small hours, English time.
