Not that it really matters, but I think if Kash had played on Friday, she would have made the All-Tournament Team. Her stats through 2 matches were PDG (pretty darn good).

Alot of lifts called this weekend. Ain't that the truth. What's with that? Do you think that the refs are calling that tighter? Allie got called for at least two "throws". I couldn't tell, have the refs decided that they're calling that tighter? Probably too soon to tell. My eye sight ain't that great and I found it difficult to tell how many of the calls were egregious and how many were legit.
I find it fascinating that the NCAA calls the setting much tighter than the international refs do.

Well ............ Based on three early matches: ... Overall hitting seems roughly equivalent to last year thanks to transfers I think the hitting may be equivalent, but I'm thinking that we seem to have more options in crunch time with Zoe and Kash; possibly Angelina also, as IMHO their arms seem to be much stronger than anyone last year. OTOH, replacing Jonni's smarts will be a neat trick.
I was so impressed watching Jonni thru the 4 years that she played for PSU. Her hitting got better and better because she developed different shots and was smarter in her placement of her shots. Such a smart player. She really got the most out of her abilities. I'm hoping to see Anjelina develop in the same way. Anjelina has a high vb IQ and so I'm hoping to see that same kind of progress for her. I look at Anjelina as Megan Courtney Ver 2.0
After reading the after match comments, Maddy seems to be a big leader out on the court. Grimes is doing well also seeing as she beat out Cassie as the primary def specialist (at least so far). KSC was happy with the server receive over the weekend.
It was nice to see at least 4 different payers have good runs at the service line. AFAIK, Maddy had two 5 point runs, Anjelina had a nice run and Markley had an 7 point run (impressive to see in a freshman). Allie had some good serves also.
I was impressed to see that Maddy and Cassie had 7 assists in the WVU match. I've seen many matches where the libero/defs spec only had 2 or 3 assists. Granted it's early and the opponents not that great, but still nice to see.
