At least the team gained some confidence from this match.
Clawing your way to a 5 setter while away from home is a good sign.
Starck has got to be injured. Markley is sorely needed on offense.

To this outsider, these teams looked pretty similar. I agree -- Ohio State looked better overall, but they were at home. Penn State does not quit. Does. Not. Quit. Down by seven in the 3rd set, they came back to win the set. And then the fourth set. Penn State does not quit. |

Love the fight this team showed tonight! I think they proved not only to themselves but to rest of the conference that they can hang big time. Markley was the difference maker for sure, hope she keeps getting to play she'll only get better. Excited to see how they show up on Sunday against Illinois!!

I've been out of it for a little while. Our beloved West Highland Terrier, Luna passed away recently. She was so determined, sweet, beautiful, and feisty; simply put she is/was amazing. She stole the entire families heart. We are heartbroken to say the least.
I felt Luna's determination, strength, and fight in our Nittany Lions this evening!
I'm not on here much. Early in 2022, with no coach and players leaving, most were in doubt. I was anxious myself, but deep down felt positive vibes. Coach Katie was chosen, Kash came on board, and each month the good news kept flowing in.
I knew and still know we are going to have an unbelievable season. I was pumped about the preseason, but I knew there would be bumps in the Big 10. I predict more turbulence (here and there), but this team will be knocking down everyone's door in the end!!!!
Holland is a game changer, and just wait until the entire team captures her spirit, determination, and intensity. You can already see it in Markley's and Kash's eyes- both gave me goosebumps tonight.
All 17 players are starting to or exhibit that grit and fight.
Looking forward to the next 3 months- tonight was an inflection point!!
