Neither team distinguished themselves offensively. Both teams were really flying around in the back court. Good defense on both sides of the net.

Gritty effort last night. Win 2 five setters on consecutive nights - how do you spell resilience?
I am very happy that Katie Shumaker Cawley is PSU's coach, but how can you not admire Jen Flynn Oldenberg? Dear Lord, does she ever stop smiling? Complete picture of calm in the face of continual chaos (isn't that the definition of volleyball?).
There was an OSU timeout in set 4, the TV screen showed the OSU bench and everybody was laughing. I can't imagine what she said to her team at that moment in the match to elicit that response.

I didn't remember reading that Bartsch-Hackley had joined the OSU staff.
Not sure if this particular L will hurt OSU so much in the rankings; but the MN ranking is going to falter.

I love this team and have for decades, but I find myself being too pessimistic when I watch them lately. I am definitely one of those fans that has too much invested in these games. Anyway... for a few years, when I was at my most pessimistic, I essentially felt that if we ever went 5, it was a guaranteed L. There were too many matches where they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory that it felt like a pattern.
Now, maybe it wasn't all pretty these last two nights, but two big 5 set victories here are reason to celebrate the heart and resilience of this group.
I still have lots of questions and concerns, but I am starting to feel that this is a team that can surprise us with a W when we aren't expecting it, even if that means we also have to expect they might surprise us with an unexpected L, too.
