On a different note, the color commentator was EXCELLENT imho. Who was she? Agreed. idk who she was. Comments good except for the one stating that IO hadn't won a set because they had played 5 great teams. Ill and Ind? Maybe not. Just nit picking. I get annoyed sometimes when announcers do the greatest thing. Reminds me of Howard Cosell. The running back of the team he was doing color for was always the greatest ever. |

Tho, as PSU fans and listening to the student broadcasting, it doesn't take much to be better than most of them. It seems to me that a lot of broadcasters, who are generally pretty good, fall into the "great/greatest player ever. One comment, (don't remember hearing it tonite), is when a player gets a good set and the broadcaster will say, "she'll get a kill on that 9 out of 10 times". No, if she did, she'd be hitting .500. Oh well. I seem to be in a whining mood tonite. My apologies.  |

I'm hoping for 3 not 2 Hoping, not expecting. I'm still scarred from Louisville, Florida, and Georgia Tech.  I can relate to that. I, along with a lot of PSU fans, was expecting PSU to be great out of the gate. But, they have steadily improved. That's nice to see. PSU played well against MINN. Hoping for the same level against NEB. Unfortunately, Neb NEVER takes PSU lightly. They are always up for a match against PSU. |

There was a BS by Mruzik, maybe set 2, where she was initiating her jump before the ball reached the hands of the IA hitter. 1) Hang time. 2) prescience.

Iowa was the perfect opponent to start the weekend-and the ladies did exactly what the team has not done in recent years ... dominate from first to last. Jess was able to try an array of swings that she might not have used against a better block. Iowa did not get great passing or setting hence lots of diggable balls. Back row got to work on their movement and group play. So really a televised scrimmage.
Tomorrow will be completely different. I shall not be surprised if the winning team hits below .200.

She’s too complimentary of everyone. I remember watching the MINN v MICH game this week and she couldn’t settle on what Arica Davis’ name was. She would go Avery one sentence and Arica the next. I cringed every time. |
