Although the Grand Rapids Rise selected Jess Mruzik in the fifth round of the PVF draft (40th overall), I would not expect her to sign with the franchise, and instead end up joining one of the LOVB teams. Mruzik is currently a LOVB student-athlete.

Why Was Jess selected so low? I see 40th overall ? There was chatter on VT that certain elite players likely did not submit their names to PVF for consideration because they had other plans. It was mentioned that part of Jess' NIL deal was with LOVB and that she was likely going to play for them or go overseas. Grand Rapids likely selected Jess last just to have the rights to her should she change her mind about PVF. |

What?!! Third round? She's hitting like mid-400's this year, right? Absolute steal of the draft. The other teams are going to regret it not picking her up. |
