Like you say, it's too early for the Massey or Pablo ratings to mean much. It'l be interesting to see what PSU's rating is after the KY and PITT matches. What with TX, NEB, LOU and WISC all losing, it really looks like this year could be a topsy-turvy year as far as the polls/ratings go. At this rate, it won't take more than a week or two to get rid of all of the undefeated teams in the top 10. Be nice if PSU was one of the undefeated teams at the end of the pre-conf schedule. |

2022 - KSC isn't a big enough hire to get good recruits...
2023 - Okay, KSC can recruit, but can she coach?
2024 - Every player has gotten/is getting better under her + staff.
Speaking of staff - I think KSC has brought together one of the best staffs in NCAA right now.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but fwiw, and acknowledging it's early days, PSU redshirt freshman RS Caroline Jurevicius is, IMHO, significantly outplaying Nebraska's RS Merritt Beason (who Nebraska head coach John Cook chose to play over Jurevicius last season, and who did, in fact play great, earning 1st Team All B1G). Jurevicius is averaging 2.70 kills/set; Beason is averaging 2.43. Jurevicius is hitting .267. Beason is hitting .098 😱. Beason is averaging 1.00 blocks/set compared to 0.60 per set for Jurevicius. Penn State is finally in the Big Ten stats with all the other teams.
In the B1G they are:
#5 in kill/set
#5 in Assist/set
#11 in blocks
#8 in digs
#7 in aces
And most impressive of all
#1 Opponent Hit%
#1 in reception
#2 in Hit% (0.004 behind Purdue)
A very well-rounded effort from PSU and these ranks are bound to go up when other teams go against stronger opposition.
