I really wonder if Izzy will be getting SOTY and FOTY awards for the B10. I believe her and Bergen were even on the setter of the week awards, not that it may matter to how the overall winner will be selected. And I believe I saw she was leading the conference in assists per set in conference play. Hopefully the win against Nebraska will help give her an additional edge.

Data for the twenty-game B1G season shows a good balance among five of the six rotations of the Penn State lineup. Only rotation six, with Camryn serving and then Jocelyn or Anji subbing in for serve receive, is below 50% on points won out of total points played.
Rotation. Server. Winning Percentage
2. Quinn/Maggie. 56.8
3 Jess 56.1
4 Ava 55.1
5 Gillean 54.5
1 Izzy 53.5
6 Cam 49.2
Side out percentages by rotation were:

Finally, percentage of service points won for the major servers were:

It will likely come as no surprise that Quinn came on very strongly in the final five matches winning 43 points on 75 serves for a 57.3% pace!

First, thanks so much for this -- it must have been a huge amount of work. Second, I thought, based on casual observation, that this season the team didn't score as often when Cam served as last year's team did. Not a lot of long runs, whereas last season it seemed there were quite a lot. Your stats certainly confirm there weren't alot this season. Now... back to work to compile last year's stats 😎 (kidding, you've done more than enough). |
