CJ with 9 kills, 1 block, hitting .353 Izzy with 27 assists, 3 blocks and 5 digs.
Nice to see Caroline J. having a good night and a better hitting percentage.
Good to see some of the bench players able to come in and contribute.

REally looking forward to the Louisville match on Tues. Should be a good one. Also, the matches against Pitt and KY will be fun.

General question. How did you guys think that Falduto did as libero? I was too busy typing to pay very close attention. I was rewatching the TENN match and rhe commentators were very complimentary of Falduto and Izzy too.

Dominating win by our second team (mostly). Very encouraging for our upcoming OOC schedule from Hell.

Looks like the entire roster played which is good for morale and depth development.
Temple was 3-0 prior to this match; against soft opposition, but nonetheless undefeated.
I saw a House Hunter's episode featuring Temple's coach and her move from NC to Philly. She gave a very good impression. Hope their program continues to grow.

I think she has been doing a great job controlling hard attacks hit at her and does a nice job covering when Penn State is attacking. I think passing overall was a bit better in the Tennessee game but her OOS setting was really good again in my opinion. I do think she has been a little slow on tips and shorter roll shots and covering setter dumps though. I think her game as DS has complimented Grimes really well so far but she for sure will be a great libero with more experience.

What are your thoughts on the middle position? I think Hopp did a great job while she was in today. The connection seemed to be a little stronger with her and Izzy compared to Mendelson so far and Hopp moved a bit better to me on the court as well. I definitely expect to see different changes in the middle spot throughout the season maybe based on the matchup. I wish we did get to see Trammell and Hopp in the lineup.

As the season goes on, she will progress and give us great depth at the L position. I was so happy to see that everyone got a chance to contribute on the court. It will be beneficial in the long run. I was especially happy for Karis to get a nice kill after a couple of errors.

I think with Hopp's experience she plays with a fluidity that we haven't seen from Mendelson yet. And wow can she block. I am a fan of Mendelson though - Her height and power.

Hopp looked good when in. I think that her experience showed in that she has a bunch more game experience than Maggie. I think that Katie seems to feel more comfortable with the IZzy Taylor connection and wanted to give Hopp real game experience and also try to cement to connection between Magie and Izzy. I've been noticing that the middle / setter connection can be a fragile thing, even at very high levels. I'm sure the middle connection will continue to develop and mature.
Plus, I like how Izzy pushes the envelop. She's already done some middle sets from the 10' line. Love to see that.

I agree I think with her height and strength, Mendelson may have a slight edge especially when thinking about the top teams they’ll be playing against in conference play. And I’m sure the connections will improve between her and Izzy as well. Hopp looked very fluid and couldn’t tell at all she joined the team the latest!

KSC mentioned a few times last year how Joce works a lot on her serve... We saw the fruit of her hard work in full display today. Perhaps Joce moves up as the first starting sub?

Good to see some of the bench players able to come in and contribute. Even Menger got into the match at Setter. It was interesting that the Temple broadcasters noted that the strategy of the PSU backups was to wait for Temple players to make errors. That was the one thing I regretted while watching the backups. Temple just didn't seem to play as hard n focused against them to test them, so it was hard for PSU backups (especially Willow) to knock the rust off during matchplay. However, our depth players, who we will rely on for boosting our starters' confidence, still outplayed Temple's starters in the end.
