Per Millenium comment "I don't recall where I read this, or which coach did this, but a certain coach would make the back line shorter by a few feet during serving practices." , this might work. Worth a try.

Ethan, you may have already reported this sometime in the past and I missed it, but the next time you talk to Maggie could you ask her if she has any intention of joining the women's basketball team in the offseason? She may want to focus exclusively on volleyball, but it looks to me like the BB team could use another big body under the basket even if only to give 10-12 minutes off of the bench in relief of whomever is starting. At 6' 5" she would provide a presence under the basket that they haven't had since Nikki Greene and allow the guards to defend aggressively knowing that she can clean up a lot of mistakes as the second line of defense. I greatly appreciate everything you do getting the word out for the PSU Women's volleyball team and especially for us fans!

This spring was the first time she focused solely on volleyball while in college. It appears the extra training time has helped her development tremendously. Also, thanks so much for the kind words and reading the site/contributing to the forum, ski!

Dang. I was just looking at the stats and the IND setter Haworth had 9 kills!!!! .400 (9-4-15). I don't know why she didn't just hit them all herself!

Indiana defended Taylor and Izzy both very well. They were keeping a close eye on both of them. On the other hand, Maggie had a good day. The benefits of having TWO good offensive middles. Taylor has improved offensively dramatically from last year. I don't have a clue as to whether that is her improvement, a setter she meshes with better, or both.
My understanding is that teams generally have a good offensive middle and a good defensive middle. Seldom have two good defensive middles (I think?).

So I have a question: Have I been mispronouncing Taylor Trammell’s last name (Tram El), or were the Indiana announcers being oblivious by pronouncing it "Trum El"?
