PSU played WI at a bad time. After a late game the night before for PSU, BUT even more important, after WI was swept soundly by NEB just a week before and really had something to prove. Also, playing in WI is hard. Just one bad match. PSU will get better.

When was the last time PSU beat WI? few years now? PSU beat WI last November in Rec Hall, before then losing to WI in Madison during NCAAs. |

Wisconsin looked really good. If PSU beats Nebraska I think there is a good chance they get a #1 regional seed. Even if they lose to Nebraska I think there is a chance PSU gets a #1 seed.

Although this is a royal beatdown by WI, I think that PSU can use this to learn from and do a lot better the next time they play WI. Not entirely sure about that. WI needed to iron out some things early in the season but has superior talent. This looked like the National Champ team. I am still shocked Nebraska swept them. |

Actually, I appreciate the optimism of a lot of posters on this board. It's preferable to constant negativity. I try to stay positive, but I need to temper my expectations. My early expectations were that PSU could win a championship with this team. My updated expectation is that we will make an Elite 8 appearancet. I would be ecstatic if we make a final 4 appearance; that would be a feat. I think PSU plays much better at home than they do on the road. I'm also very happy that we have Izzy for another 3 years. |
