Good announcing. Color was a former player for PSU Harrisburg. SHe did a good job as did the play-by-play announcer. One thing that was very noticeable was that the announcers were enthusiastic about good plays regardless of which team made that play. Really rare.

Wow Cam hitting .500 with 17 kills. Need this type of consistency the rest of the season! I wonder if the team read some of the Illinois thread because they seemed to have a lot more fire today, especially Mendelson with her attacks. Nice to see Quinn continue excelling in her serving specialist role. The floor defense seemed to go up with Nathan in the line up also. She did have a few bad receptions closer to the end of the game but I think she overall had a great weekend and some nice defensive touches. CJ I think has continued progressing over this second half of the season so far. Much smarter attacks off the block and the few misses she did have I think were good ideas. Hoping this serving pressure becomes a norm for the rest of the season also.

To me it’s a sign that she’s worrying less about herself. If so, paying off.

Is Mruzik injured or something? She's been off the past few games. I was at the game and Jess seemed just fine. She warmed up with Jocelyn (which I thought helped "Juice" prepare for her start.) If I had to guess as to Jess' lower production, I would say that there are two things going on and both are related to competing for the Naty. First, with all the focus on Jess this season (and last for that matter), the coaches/Jess may be resting her arm a bit so as not to burn it out beforehand. She took some great swings during the Maryland match that showed the power and precision she has displayed in the past. The second is that with everyone contributing to our wins, it makes us a better team which is definitely necessary to compete for the title. It helps to spread the wealth, build team chemistry and makes us harder to defend. I have no direct knowledge, this is just my opinion.

I can say wow when Jess scores >20. It also makes me say uh-oh. She has definitely loaded the team on her back here and there but not necessarily a good sign. Look e.g. at Londot. We need to be firing on all six cylinders.

We need to be firing on all six cylinders. This is a valid point and concern. The telling stat is number of attempts. I was pleased that Caroline got her share of chances yesterday, including a fair amount of out of system balls from Gillian. My observation is that most of the season Gill would always go to Jess or Cam on OOS plays, even when facing to the right. Caroline got a few of those slow sets down for points which is progress for the whole team (er cylinders?) I do think that opponents study film and are geared up to slow Jess down. PSU is not the only team that adjusts rotation to get desired match ups. I have not studied the opponents' rotations at all, but my guess is that when Jess is having trouble Cam does better due to more favorable match ups.

I think the announcers are excellent 👍👍 They really were. Names were Mychal Kersting and Alexa Henry. I'm just now watching the match. My only complaint is that Kersting kept calling Izzy, "StarckA".
