I really hope Cam gets a B1G accolade this week. She has been carrying the team lately. I'm curious what's up with Jess the past couple matches? Seems like she's not playing up to par.

I really hope Cam gets a B1G accolade this week. She has been carrying the team lately. I'm curious what's up with Jess the past couple matches? Seems like she's not playing up to par. Started set one with Cam and Taylor, rather than Jess and Taylor. Cam did not score on any of her first 3 swings (her fourth swing does not count since the team was so out of system Cam could barely touch the ball), while Jess scored on her first attempt. Cam took multiple swings from the right to start scoring, then found seams in the WA block and of course tooled for points later in set one. In set two, Jess was paired with Trammel to start (WA serving) and Jess scored on her first swing bettering a poor set. Of course with that rotation, the team destroyed WA. Apologies, but I don't know WA well enough to ascertain if they stayed with the rotations as they did in set 1. But it is rare to have two OHs with such comparable skills that they can be so easily flip flopped as has been done so frequently this season. I don't notice Jess looking tired, moving slowly or not jumping as high. She has been less automatic with back row attacks. Recall just a couple of weeks ago, some worried that Cam was in a "funk." So much of an OH's success is affected by the opposition block. My long-winded way of saying I don't think anything is up with Jess. The opposition is quite rightly trying to hold her down, and as a result, Cam is finding the going a bit easier. By the way, did we notice that we ran out of subs in set one? Good thing Angelina was in to play front row and get a block during extra points.

Sorry guys. Would you believe I totally forgot about the match today? I'm a Bears fan and was thinking about the Bears game at 12 PM. I started watching that and realized as the Bears game was ending that I had missed the PSU match. Oh well. Again, sorry.
Of course, I would far rather watch the Bears lose ANOTHER really close game than watch PSU win. The Bears 3rd really close loss; at least this game wasn't lost in the last 5 seconds of the game like the two previous close losses were (a hail Mary pass by the other team that connected and a blocked Bears field goal attempt in the other).

Does this mean Jordan is expected to be back with the team next year? Well, I guess nothing's 100% guaranteed (especially due to the Transfer Portal), but with her deciding to not participate in Senior Night (despite having a year of eligibility left), I'm guessing that she's staying. I get the impression it was assumed this was a learning year for her. She didn’t play club volleyball and then started her college career at Iowa State, so advancing to the B1G at Penn State is a big step (for anyone). She’s looked good in limited action but that’s a big progression to starter at an elite program. I’m rooting for her.

Jordan Hopp not being honored in tonight's Senior Night Presentation... Maggie Mendelson remaining on the roster for next year... and high school star Gabby Nichols joining the team... I think we'll be okay at MB next year! Yep! Now just need another pair of HQ PP's for insurance. (i.e., High Quality Portal Pins) Yes we need to bring in a couple of top quality OH's but let's not forget Markley. I feel she is probably being intensively coached and conditioned in preparation for a more key role in her final year. Also we don't know what Willow might be capable of, but may not find out till 2026. Certainly we definitely need one new terminating OH, but Markley has a chance to be the other.

I'd be the most ecstatic person if both show out next season.
