I just watched a bit of the Texas vs. Texas A&M match. Paulina Prieto-Cerame was hitting hard and serving hard. She is also still an enthusiastic player. One that got away.

I finally have the Longhorn Network and have my DVR set for Sunday's Wisconsin game. Speaking of Wisconsin... Paulina's serving certainly added excitement to the 2013 final against the Badgers.

Watched her during the Pan Am games. I am not sure that she had play time; if she did it was sparse and unremarkable. Unlike Santana, she was not selected to the PR Olympic squad. I don't see her as the one who got away. I see her as the one who chose to leave.

So, barring anything unforeseen as the preseason draws to a close, PSU should finish 7-3. To minimally qualify for the tournament, they need to finish the B1G season with a 8-12 conference record. They could probably be one of the top 16 seeds if they finish 15-5/14-6 in the conference. Can they do that? After looking over the B1G schedule. I would have to say that PSU has, at least, 6 conference losses, based on the way they're playing right now. They should finish the preseason 7-3, so with 20 conference matches after that, I figure the best record they'll end up with is 21-9 (if their quality stays stagnant, which I don't think it will). If they can improve as the season progresses, maybe 23-7; I don't see a better record than that. If they regress, then we finish around 19-11. I just checked BluePenquin's RPI Future's on VolleyTalk (or VT for all the newbies). Penn State is predicted to finish the season at 19-12. I'll keep you all posted on future "Futures Ranking." Every team is 1 player away from disaster except Neb imo 3 losses this year (2 of which were wins we blew) I see 5 REALLY tough games. I believe in coach pushing this team to compete against the other B1Gs. I just hope we don't lose any matches against underdogs.

I agree UMD Terps will not be as tough as their easy schedule makes them look. But I don't think it'll be the gimme that we were used to through 2014.

Just want to update my pre-conference outlook, now that we are mid-season. Right now, I think we will have 2 more losses in conference over the next 2 weeks, perhaps 3 to end the regular season, giving us an overall record of 24-6, which I would be happy with. If we win 3 of the next 4, then we are talking about National Championship contention.
