Has Detering's setting gotten better since coming to PSU and being under Russ and Salima? I'm curious, anyone know for sure?

being the fair weather fan i am this is my first post this season. didn't have anything to add up till now. i just wanted to comment on the fantastic volley somewhere in the middle of the third set. wish i could have seen that live. it's a real relief to see these girls start to jell. serving errors seem down and the setting in this game was great! i suppose it's a little optimistic to suggest maybe 3 losses is all they'll have this year.

A pretty dominant win in my eyes. Penn State pulled away early on in each set & never really allowed the Boilermakers in the match at all.
I'm going to echo what others said after the Minnesota match—all the errors PSU made in this match almost make the dominant win more impressive. If they can round into form (aka cut down on the errors) as they go on some tough, tough road matches in a few weeks, we could see a well-oiled machine. Of course, in the B1G, nothing comes easy. I see some losses coming, but I know they will be hard-fought matches nonetheless.
Side note: Keeton Holcomb is a serious contributor for this team. Not enough is being said about how excellent she has played this season. She went on several serving runs in this one.

Audrey Flaugh clearly believes PSU will not be atop the BIG by the time the season's over; predicts winner will have at least 2 losses.

I'm not sure if she meant 2 losses in big ten play or 2 losses overall. Pretty sure she did call PSU "the best team in the conference" at the beginning of the match too.

If PSU can beat Nebraska in Rec Hall, then I'll be sold that we can win the conference this year. Otherwise, no way.

I think that ever since that visit to State College by Glass and Dietzen a few weeks ago, the team has been playing with a renewed sense of purpose.

Holcomb and White are playing lights out. I can't believe how much we have improved from a month ago.

I'm impressed with Brianna's positive attitude and her ability to still make a contribution to the team.

I'm impressed with Brianna's positive attitude and her ability to still make a contribution to the team. I agree. Also, Flaugh did say Penn State was playing the best in the conference right now. And I thought she meant two conference losses, not two losses overall. I'm clearly in the minority here, but I like Flaugh. I think where she runs into trouble is she always tries to say something positive, and that frequently can sound like she's favoring one team over another.

I also like Beth Mowins and that puts ME clearly in the minority here, I bet. I'm not a fan of Liz (don't remember her last name) but she must read volleytalk, because she was very fair recently-whichever match it was-maybe last night. It's all becoming a blur.
