I marvel at Wisconsin fans. Two trips to the Final Four in forever. The best setter there's ever been and her team never hit .300! Seems to me that America's Dairyland has gotta be ripe for some clever con men. Those people seem to have a need to believe that mediocrity is something to be worshipped. They try my patience. There's really only one who really annoys me -- I think his handle is badsporty or something. But there are several Badger fans I like alot. So like everything, it's complex. Go Lions. Beat the Badgers. And everyone else. As usual, you have a more even-handed take on the situation. Guess I like being a drama queen, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm familiar with the "sporty" poster of whom you speak. I feel safe sharing with you that he is the leading candidate for the 2017 Ricardo Cabeza Award.

Among other things.

Micha Hancock ran the offense and served well. Team USA runs it so fast.

Loved it against Turkey last night (my time). Turkey kept up with Team USA for first 3 sets until end of third set when Micha went off on them at the service line. They had a chance to come back and take set 3 until Micha went to the service line and served out the set with some bombs! That looked like it took all the wind out of their sails after that. That coach was calling challenges like they were 3 for a dollar. The one he called to challenge a foot fault was nothing more than trying to slow down Micha's momentum at the service line. You can see live she was at least a foot away from service line when serving. As for the Match, they have to get better at the passes to both Carly and Micha. Can't have our setters running all over the place to set balls. On another note, The Micha pipe's to Murphy in backrow were unstoppable.

The coverage on the NBC sports channel deleted the third set for time constraints. It was great to see her have the opportunity to establish some continuity. It looked as if her teammates were OK with her, I only saw her have a couple bad sets near the end of set four. I wonder if Wisconsin's former setter is done for this cycle.

Did you watch delayed coverage? You can download the match from my Dropbox link. Just go to Video Jukebox. Her and Carley both had a couple of bad sets but there were quite a few bad passes to both of them that they had to run after. Its a young team so growing pains will be evident.

I finally watched the game parts that I missed. I understand that the team isn't operating like a well-oiled machine. Back during the games in Peru, I said that the passing was so bad it looked like they were playing "monkey in the middle" with the setter. This team's passing is better, and they are getting stressed by their opponents--it's not like they're in practice. And, it's good to see Micha's career going forward.

I've enjoyed watching the coverage on the new "Olympic Channel," that's 624 for you DirecTV subscribers. It's especially nice to get the hi-res video. And, today's game against Belgium was a lot more exciting than it should have been. Megan had a great game. Personally, I thought Karch might have let Micha have a set all to herself.
What is it? Five weeks until the season starts?

Was hoping for a win this morning against Brazil. Couldn't stay up late enough last night to watch. Have to watch today sometime before GOT comes on. Looks like we are second (third) overall. I forgot that host nation no matter what they do will get 1st seed in finals. I do not like that because host nation can lose every set and still get 1st seed in finals and have a chance at winning it all by just playing their 2nd string if they want all the way until finals. Finals Matchups still not up.
