I was responding to a post on VT (i.e., Veggie Tales - thanks to armydoogie for the chuckle) and had the following discourse. Any input on what constitutes a "Balanced" attack?

Tori Gorrell has been nursing an injury and has played limited minutes this season.
If we are talking about this particular match, then yes, it was left side heavy with regard to Total Attacks. However, the O.P. was pondering PSU's future success for the season. I was assuming that that the O.P. was referring to an unbalanced player load. Namely, Simone Lee carrying the team this year like she did in 2016.
I went back and added up the stats for the season for all the players. Here's what I came up with.
Player --> Total Attack % (792) --> % of Kills (374)
Simone Lee --> 29.8% --> 28.3%
Ali Frantti --> 20.6% --> 19.8%
Washington --> 14% --> 17.1%
H. Thelen --> 8% --> 8.8%
T. Gorrell --> 2.8% --> 2.7%
Detering --> 12.9% --> 13.1%
Nia Reed --> 8.5% --> 7.2%
2017 Season --> Player Hitting Efficiency --> (T.A.)
Simone Lee --> .292 --> (236)
A. Frantti --> .344 --> (163)
A. Detering --> .373 --> (102)
Washington --> .505 --> (111)
H. Thelen --> .391 --> (64)
T. Gorrell --> .318 --> (22)
Nia Reed --> .194 --> (67)
2017 Team Hitting Efficiency: .340
2017 Season - PSU's Total Attacks (792):
Left Sides: 50% (Lee, Frantti)
Middles: 25% (Washington, Thelen, Gorrell)
Opposites: 22% (Detering, Reed)
2017 Season - PSU's % of Kills (374):
Left Sides: 48% (Lee, Frantti)
Middles: 29% (Washington, Thelen, Gorrell)
Opposites: 21% (Detering, Reed)
The question is, what "Total Attacks" and "Kills" numbers are considered an acceptable range for "Balance?"
Also, is "Balance" really necessary to win?

PSU: Lee with 48 attempts, Frantti with 42, Washington with 20's
Thelen and dietering w 11
It will be interesting to see how far Stanford and PSU can go with unbalanced attacks. Maybe it won't matter.
Minnesota, Wis, Washington all spread the ball tho.

You really don't think that Penn State sets the left considerably more than anything else? Washington, one of the best terminators in the game, only had 22 attempts in FIVE SETS. You don't think that's a problem? Gorrell, who hit .360 last season, got four attempts. She's clearly not a pin attacker, though.
If you're not going to change your offense's identity and still be the Lee/Frantti show, I don't understand what the 6-2 does for you. I don't see how it makes Penn State's "big 3" better. I wish the setters would take some more chances and set some other attackers.
