here's the final stats which i didn't see posted last night on the gophersports site: www.gophersports.com/sports/w-volley/stats/2017-2018/neb13.htmlthe stat sheet from the MN-NE match is fascinating. MN scored 21, 18, 13. Differential in Ks: NE: 52; MN: 33. Assists: NE: 47; MN: 33 Aces: NE: 5; MN: 1 Yet, NE hit 'only' .301.

My take on the NE vs MN match tonight. 1. Stop being predictable on the setting ball. MN is worse then us when it comes to playing out of system. Needed to set more in the middle (we had same issue) 2. MN needed to try to hit balls where the defense wasn't. Too many times they hit directly to the defense without them having to move. 3. Be more patient on the touches over the net when NE is out of system. (Especially, when they tip over net in the middle. I saw quite a few times when MN would just hit ball over on 1st touch giving ball right back to NE instead of passing to setter. 90% of the time when they were out of system (which wasn't much), NE either tipped over block or tooled block. 4. MN needed to serve NE tough (we made same mistake) to get them out of system. 5. If all of the above is done, then MN may have had chance to get a run on NE. Neither Penn State nor MN were able to get a run on NE. Neither team got NE behind enough to stress them at any time in the match. 6. MN had quite a few unforced hitting errors. BTW: I will be posting (on this thread) shortly Wisconsin vs Michigan State, Minnesota vs Nebraska and tomorrows Nebraska vs Wisconsin matches on my other YouTube channel (WCVB). This other channel is strictly for great matches and upsets of top 10 teams. There will be no Penn State matches on it because they all will be on my main channel (SFCPLDC). You will not see any sweeps of non-ranked teams on that channel I watched that game too. My thoughts: - I think last night a lot of Minny’s attack was more “hurried” than “quick”. Their setter sets everything so flat and fast, when passing is not good enough, that leaves hitter no chance of making a good contact. - compare to the game against UT earlier in the year, Hart and Samedy just wasn’t in top form. Samedy’s ceilling is sky high but she is just not consistent enough. - at what point should we think NE is just simply so good at passing the ball. Yesterday the commentators mentioned Albrecht was a DS is her first two year? Is that right? Can’t believe such an offensive force was only playing back row in first two years, but her passing is top notch for sure.

One thing that I noticed earlier in pre-season when MN played Boise State, that SSS was constantly running all over the court to get the passes. So far, I haven't seen this change much. They are a great team but very young as is Nebraska. Right now Nebraska hasn't had to adjust to any teams play. Looking forward to their upcoming match-ups with other teams. They will lose at least 2 more games before the tournament. In my opinion, they are good a passing the ball because they are mostly always in system. Nobody so far in the BIG has served tough to them. Looking forward to seeing if they can stay in system against a team like Michigan State that has some tough servers. Will be watching that match closely.

Can’t believe such an offensive force was only playing back row in first two years, but her passing is top notch for sure. For the last 2 years, Albrecht has played in every set NE played. She had fewer digs than some 6-ro players, and fewer than Orantes. But substantial numbers. In 2015 and 2016, she had fewer digs than K Rolfzen; in 2015 she had 66 Ks on 203 TA, ~.160, 314 digs in 2016 she had 25 Ks on 86 TA, ~.070 and fewer digs, 229 digs Still I'm not sure she can correctly be called a DS: doubt the PSU defensive staff combined for 25 Ks in any recent year.

Wisconsin takes set 1 from Nebraska 25-22 and just took set two 25-17!! Nebraska is who I thought they were. Showing some cracks. They are still good but not great (yet). Too bad we didn't play them better. No matter what happens in this match, BIG 10 season is going to be a blood-bath!! Wouldn't expect anything less even after the regular season is over we continue to have to play each other in the NCAA tournament in the Regionals.

Wisconsin takes set 1 from Nebraska 25-22 and is up 21-16 (current WI challenge to play). I think Wisconsin's made 5 aces.

Damn, you weren't supposed to catch my error. If Nebraska wins it's all your fault.

Damn, you weren't supposed to catch my error. If Nebraska wins it's all your fault. Fair enough. But I get credit for the win over Northwestern. The first set was tied until I started watching.
