I think PSU deserves the #2 ranking, but not clear on what happened this past weekend that changed voters' minds. A VolleytTalk poster claims that a voter has mistakenly selected SAMford as opposed to STANford. I quit reading after that. FWIW - Bob Bertucci has SAMford listed at #3 since Week 6 voting in the spreadsheet. Not sure that has any impact on the actual voting.

Who is Timothy Horsmon, and why has he been enthralled by PSU since Week 2? We've been top of his ballot ever since.

Could be, but now it'll be on the minds of all the voters come next week and the psychological effect will come into play, strengthening PSU's #2 ranking in people's minds. Not that any of it matters at the end of the season.

Rose Shires from Omaha has been voting for Stanford since 25 Sep. This is why the AVCA poll isn't a realistic picture of where teams should be ranked. There are some coaches that actually take the poll seriously when voting and some that don't.

Oddly, he is a big fan of vintage TV, and he says his favorite show is Stanford and Son.

I have been sending tweets to Shires for three weeks, pointing out the obvious lack of logic in her ballots. She has not responded other than to like my first tweet to her. Since then, nothing.

Are such lobbying efforts permitted? Perhaps lobbying and other "interesting" tactics by adherents of other schools could explain strange voting. (Hey-I don't know how much money one vote is worth)
