Lost the stream. I think the non-Micha team was up 2-1 and eventually prevailed. Yes, Carlini's team won 3-1.

Lost the stream. I think the non-Micha team was up 2-1 and eventually prevailed. Yes, Carlini's team won 3-1. From what I saw, Micha's team didn't have much blocking and their back court defense wasn't great. Micha did get her aces though!

A big improvement from the 22-8 projection at the beginning of the season. that was ridiculous imo. Agreed. How is Penn State's SOS 20th?

Agreed. How is Penn State's SOS 20th? I wondered that also. But then assumed preseason matches against Yale, Wake Forest, Georgia Southern, for example, don't build SOS.

But I would have thought Stanford twice, Colorado (which is having a terrific season) and West Virginia (which is 15-9) would have made up for that. Is SOS a static value set before the season, or does it change? I may be conflating it with RPI. Anyway, my assumption clearly is wrong (which doesn't mean #20 SOS is right )

Anyway, my assumption clearly is wrong (which doesn't mean #20 SOS is right ) I could make a case that any Number 1 team should get a SOS boost for every game they play while they hold the Number 1 ranking. After all, their opponents are certainly likely to put out extra to beat the Number 1 team.

I may be conflating it with RPI. According to Bluepenquin on VT: Changes each week (or update). Not sure if this is the correct definition, but I define it as 50% of average opponent record (projected to the end of the season) + 25% of the opponent/opponent w/l% + any projected scheduling bonus (non conference). I wouldn't be surprised if the correct definition doesn't include the scheduling bonus, but I think it should be included so I do. Changes in schedule (Hurricanes and conference tournaments) will impact SOS as the matches become scheduled or cancelled. Ok-so who has the Number 1 SOS? Keep in mind that the SOS changes each week. I'm not sure how much, but I know it fluctuates some.
