Cal Poly takes set four 25-18 to force a 5th set!
Cal Poly takes an extended fifth set at home from Hawaii 17-15. Hawaii's post season chances just went way down. Cal Poly just put the 7th nail in Hawaii's coffin. At best, even with winning out for the rest of the season, Hawaii will be on the bubble come selection time. One more loss from Hawaii and it will be the 8th and final nail in their coffin!

I like Hawaii but I bleed Blue and White!  I predicted this outcome before the season started because they have a new coach and don't have any big power hitters on the pins. Rely too much on back court kills. Their best player on the team is their MB Maglio who is a Senior this season. I don't think they have any big hitters coming in next year either so this is not going to better for them unless RAMS brings in some transfers.The ranked teams that lost today that beat Hawaii earlier in season was # 17 BYU, #9 Utah and #16 UCLA. That really hurts them. They may drop from #50 to 55-58 depending on what they do with UCSB on Saturday. |

#16 UCLA gets upset by #44 Washington State who takes match in 5 sets!
A few upsets today in women's volleyball. Could there be another one tomorrow with #19 Iowa State upsetting #11 Kansas? Other than the PSU/Illinois match that is the one to watch tomorrow.
