Based on past voting, I predict AVCA votes for Stanford to be #1 will increase from 8 to 13. Depending on what happens the rest of the regular season with Stanford and other top 10 teams, this loss may knock them out of the top 4 seeds. They were 4th based on the committees 1st ranking.

How do we account for Cal's collapse this year? We played them in the finals? not long ago...

How do we account for Cal's collapse this year? We played them in the finals? not long ago... Cal hasn't been good since a year after they played Penn State in NC. In 2011, they lost in 1st round. Haven't been a top team since nor do I believe that they have been to post season since. They have a new coach now since Feller retired earlier this year. Maybe he can turn the program around in a few years.

UCLA sweeps Colorado, 3-0. Wasn't expecting that. Didn't get to watch much of match. There will be some Conference championships decided this weekend (non-tournament conferences). We already have one AQ in Colorado State.

Is Purdue doing better than they did against PSU, is Minnesota weaker than expected, or a combination of both?

I think it's MN. With all their PoWs, FoWs, SoC (setter of Century)...they should be able to handle PU. Stahl is hurting, they still can't stop this gritty team so far...
