The Penn State Women's Volleyball Booster Club held its annual post-season banquet this afternoon. Highlighting the event were the announcements of two annual awards: the Coach's Award, given to the player who made the most improvement during the season, went to Simone Lee, (who couldn't be in attendance because she is playing professionally in Italy, replacing Megan Easy, who some of you may have heard of). The Pops Award, which Coach Rose described as going to a player who did all the things not listed on their resume, went to Haleigh Washington. Two great players who will be missed.
Very enjoyable event.

Thanks for sharing. I imagine you and your slacker staff made for a happy table.

Thanks for sharing. I imagine you and your slacker staff made for a happy table. They overslept. No-shows.

Yes and you are referring to Megan Hodge who married Omar Easy, a good running back for the Nittany Lions. And Megan was outstanding back in the day.

Thanks for the nice report, nyline. But....can you please pass along some gossip from the banquet?!

Thanks for the nice report, nyline. But....can you please pass along some gossip from the banquet?! There really wasn't anything else to report. The coaches and team know they will have to work hard next season, and the current players will need to lead the incoming players and teach them about the work ethic and commitment needed to play at Penn State. There was no word on Salima's replacement, and no word on transfers. I wish I had something, but I don't.

Any of the 2018 players starting early - Spring 2018? Don't know. It would be nice, because the squad is small until they arrive, but I think probably not.

One of the 2018 players is starting school today. She was not at the banquet because she was attending an orientation meeting.

Working until 2 AM on the banquet because people completely ignored deadlines, when I got the answer if any new freshmen were attending, I was too busy to ask the player's name who wasn't attending the banquet and jumped on to the next task. He name wasn't any of my business anyhow, and never having seen her play, it wouldn't mean much.

Not a lot of kids on the roster as it stands with such turnover. Haileigh is going to stick around and train until her gig over in the Philippines. Abby is off to Austria. Simone is off to Italy. Heidi is close to a deal. Lainy got hired in Philly. No word on Clare,Ali.

Thanks for the nice report, nyline. But....can you please pass along some gossip from the banquet?! I would prefer that some of the personal info and stories shared there that I heard remain among PSU family and stay there. BIG hint. Thank you.

Smart answer cross5. We need more of this approach. The gossip is just that, and the truth in the gossip is often not disclosed for privacy concerns.
