I watched the team playing against each other at the camp a couple days ago (one team of all freshmen and another team of upperclassmen). Freshmen look exceptionally good to me, considering how short period of time they playing together. With a quick look, they have high intensity fighting spirit and great floor defense. The one who impressed me the most is Parker!! She is really fun to watch. Blossom and Hampton also got my attention. PS: not sure it's OK to share the info? Let me know if anyone thinking I shouldn't post something like this. A quick check of my tattered memory suggests that your post is the first (or at least among the few) I've read that gives us this kind of information. I celebrate your access and willingness to share. Thanks! I wouldn't dare to plumb the depths of what Nyline left unsaid, but I imagine it would be inappropriate to share observations that might cause embarrassment, but you probably know that already.

Yes it is Bayleigh Hoffman from ULM. She's already at PSU for the summer and Coach Rose had her coaching my daughters camp last week. Very nice and thoughtful young lady who seems to have a high volleyball IQ from what I could see by watching her coach the kids. Welcome to our happy place.

At that time, there was no indication that those of us present were under any media blackout; gyms were open to anyone who walked in...essentially public--if not advertised. SHARE!!

Speaking of Juniata, and a bit off topic, I may be the only one who didn't hear that Larry Bock has retired (as of late March) as Naval Academy WVB coach. He went there 7 years ago from Juniata, and went out on a very high note in the Patriot League. They posted a video tribute in May that included data from Juniata.

Why be so negative before we even lose out first match? Their will be plenty of time to discuss those things later. Because we won't have the luxury of an abundance of outsides this year let alone good passing outsides. Russ does his best coaching when he does not have an abundance of elite players. We need to have more faith in our team.

In 2013 Bayleigh and Taylor played with Synergy VB Club in Philadelphia. I spent a short amount of time with Bayleigh working on her setting technique. She was at this time demonstrating solid defensive skills and her setting was better than most but not as strong as others who were doing a lot of jump setting. This was about the time that colleges started featuring beach volleyball at the varsity level and Bayleigh wanted to play for a school that had announced such varsity participation. The college in Louisiana offered that program. She was a very focused player with a strong sense of curiosity and wanting to now all that she could. If you saw her in the scrimmage on Sunday you will remember that her serves were flat , deep and consistent with an ability to center in on targets. I doubt that she will be a routine member if they run a 6/2 because she has limited blocking ability but anticipate that she will serve routinely
