Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I wanted to see where Russ placed PSU when the AVCA poll came out and then forget all about it.
I'm certain that ranking reflects what Russ has seen so far in practice.
EDIT: Where did you find that? I was looking for the ballots on the AVCA website, but to no avail.
I interviewed all three coaches yesterday. I'll be posting those interviews next week. Coach Rose stressed that as of Friday, he's only coached the players for two days. When he filled out his ballot, he hadn't coached them at all. In the "New Nittany Dictionary - 2018 Edition," the definition for "sandbagged" includes this discussion between Nyline and Millennium. |

This seems like some kind of Rohrschach test -- who is getting sandbagged? It certainly can't be Millennium, because he is way too smart and knowledgeable (there is ample evidence for this proposition looking at his posts from this forum and VT). Nor can it be Coach Rose, who is also very smart and knowledgeable (need anyone be reminded of evidence for that?). It could be me -- but that seems to be too low a bar. Just ask my slacker staff -- they sandbag me all the time. And I hope it's not forum readers -- it goes without saying that they are a perceptive and erudite bunch. I'm puzzled, and left only with this joke: |

I guess it pays to ask. LOL!
I was pretty sure he had seen all the freshmen in practice and that's why he ranked the team so much lower than the AVCA and VT polls.

The quality of opposing teams may be at an all-time high this season and we will not have the experienced players that we usually do. This will definitely be a rebuilding year.
