I was glad to see Pittsburgh lose. I really didn't want to see another regional #1 seed like Missouri who then were beat by the #6 team in the B1G, Purdue. On the other hand, bluepenguin on volleytalk made a good point. He (she? ) said that everybody would be glad to be in regionals other than BYU, Stanford and Minn. Cuz all of the possible #1 teams for the fourth regional are a level below those three. That being said, I think there are a number of teams better than Pittsburgh who are better teams. Maybe just my prejudice

Aird is already starting to make a difference at Indiana with his predecessor's players.

As long as he keeps losing to his mentor, I'm OK with it.

Mich St took Minn to 5 sets. Mich St blocking was really something considering that Minn hitters are so good at placing their attacks. Unfortunately, Mich St ran out of gas in the 5th set. As most of you have seen, once a team gets 3 points behind in the fifth set, they start pressing and consequently lose even quicker. Scores were, 23-25, 25-19, 25-17, 21-25 & 15-7. Mich St really played well, were playing (until the 5th set) very loose. Mich St out blocked Minn 14 to 13.

Michigan just beat the Badgers 3-1.
Yes, I think we now have a good chance of beating them too.

I think we can beat them too, the problem is, they, like Nebraska & Minn (add B1G ) are ALWAYS up for Penn St. So you can usually expect them to play at their best when playing PSU.

B1G interconference play is like a hand grenade fight in a cave.

If Rettke goes off, then I don't think we stand a chance. LOL! I'm hoping the bad Badgers show up. The good thing is we play them at home.

Yeah, Rettke went off on Minn and pretty much kept Wisc in it by herself (a bit of an exaggeration but not much:) ). She had 30 kills that night (which was exactly half of the Wisc output)and hit .560. Like you say, it's a good thing we play them at home.

Will be a good rival for us in future seasons.

Lol, and some people still think the PAC 12 is the best conference! This is a bold statement, but I think we can beat Illinois! . Definitely agree that B1G is the best conference. Someone said it’s like a grenade fight in a cave. 😆 This Illinois team has been a juggernaut as of late. Sometimes appears to be a team without the grit, and moreso belief, they can win in big match-ups like Minnesota, Wisconsin or Nebraska. They were swept in their only meeting at Minnesota, then split both the Wisconsin and Nebraska matchups. I agree jchenot, I believe PSU can win against Illinois. I’ll take Penn State in four. But first Northwestern who is starting to work as a unit to pull out a few wins. They swept Michigan State who just went to Minnesota and took them to five. (Michigan State had a couple injured players when they faced Northwestern.). Don’t know if we’d see that result again by (4-10 conf) Northwestern. Similar to Illinois, Northwestern plays like a team not certain of their ability to win. But Illinois has better talent and size on the floor. And Poulter. Illinois will ride Quade hard. Northwestern’s go-to is Robinson. Her supporting cast is not as strong as anyone Penn State has. Penn State will contain and control Northwestern. I’d love to see a sweep here.
