Alexa Markley looked great in the All-American game! She really hits at a super high angle and puts up a good block as well. Was playing RS during the match, interested to see if that is where she'll play at PSU. Really excited to hopefully see her take the floor next year, she will definitely help adding depth in the pin hitting positions!

Did I miss her, or did she enter later in set 2 or in set 3? Also, fwiw, I think the commentators (Salima included) were kidnapped by the founder of Under Armour and one of his henchmen, who took up much of the second set babbling on about their company -- with absolutely no commentary going on about the match that was taking place. I found that really annoying, although I understand UA is paying for the broadcast. |

Alexa had a couple of nice kills to the deep corner. But she had too few attempts for an effective evaluation of her potential. Would like to know her reaction to the upcoming coaching change.
On the other hand, Minnesota has a five star recruit in McKenna Wurcherer!

She only played front row, so she came out fairly early and came back after about half dozen points. She scored the 15th point (via block) and 16th point (via kill) for team blue in set 1. |

I remember seeing the match the previous time the NCAAs were in Cols. (They had it on the Friday between the semis and final.) I was interested to watch because Drechsel and someone else sat in front of me on the plane from Denver to Cols. I don't remember being as impressed with the play then as I was yesterday. Stuckey and several others did so well, especially given that this is just a thrown-together set of teams. Wow.

Markley had four kills on eight swings and hit .375 in the Under Armour match. She added a solo block and three block assists in the exhibition.
