Thanks, Ethan, nice article on Anjelina and Rachel, I hope they are as happy to be here, as we are to have them. Congrats ladies on your choice of schools.

I doubt WVB players read any VB sports forum including VT. From what I heard players think posters on VT are a bunch of middle aged men. They have absolutely no interest in what middle aged men (who they consider primarily losers) post on message boards about volleyball. Pennstate1973 - What an utterly depressing post - you've succeeded in deterring me from having any further interest in reading or posting here. I'll get my PSU VB info from Twitter and the NCAA pages. Account closed. Goodbye. Don't pay attention to posts like the one you quoted. Sometimes people post ignorant comments. Age and sex has nothing to do with the quality of content posted and players do care what people here say and think. I know for certain that some players read the posts on this site and on the Volleytalk forum

I know for certain that some players read the posts on this site and on the Volleytalk forum I think these posts highlight one of the huge problems with message boards -- and texting and email, for that matter: many complex and nuanced thoughts get lost in the brevity and minimalistic form. Then people react to those brief, minimalistic posts/texts/emails. I don't believe there was any malice intended in the post to which england responded. So, regardless of how many players read this forum (I still believe it is a low, though probably "non-zero" number), I think the point holds, at least with respect to me: I don't know much about the fine points, the nuance, or much of anything about how the game of volleyball is played. And I suspect people who do know those things -- like players, for example -- immediately see that, and don't pay much attention to what I post (or if they do, don't give my posts much weight). Or at least I hope they don't

I know for certain that some players read the posts on this site and on the Volleytalk forum I've been following college volleyball for a very long time. I've talked to countless parents of players through the years. My son dated a player on a top DI team. I have yet to hear of any player that reads volleytalk. I'm sure there are a handful of them but my experience indicates very few. For the record I won't describe anything you or anyone else posts on this message board as ignorant.
I have said this in the past. Everyone on this board is civil and very respectful toward one another, toward the players, and the coaches. That's why I come here.
Englandpennstatefan, I hope you come back before the fall season starts. This is the best and most respected message board for fans of Penn State volleyball.

To my inexpert eyes both look like really good players. I don't want to curse a player with unfair comparisons and expectations, but when I've seen Starck, I'm reminded of Megan Courtney. That's not to say she'll be the same caliber of player as Courtney -- not many players are -- but she seems to have alot of similarities. To my inexpert eyes. Next season Megan Courtney and Kathryn Plummer will be joining one of the best teams in Italy. It is also one of the best teams in Europe.

I think we can all post ignorant (as in 'lack of knowledge') content from time to time. I don't want to single anyone out, it happens to all of us. But there are players, family members of players, and just simple posters who can and do get offended by comments they read on message boards. I think it's important for all of us to remember that.

There's no fun in being a member of a sports board with little to no traffic. Also, I'm a fan of the international game and I think EnglandPennStateFan would appreciate the international matches being played over the next 2-3 months.

There is less conversation than I'd like -- though there are still alot of "lurkers" -- people who drop in and look at the posts, but don't comment. I hope you stick around, just as I hope EnglandPennStateFan returns. One thing I am grateful for is the difference in tone between DigNittany and VT. No question there is alot more traffic on VT, but there are alot of posters who revel in message board combat. I don't enjoy that, and I think most of the posters on this site don't enjoy it either. Stick around Westender, and things will pick up for the 2021 season. But relatively speaking, this will remain a smaller (but friendlier) bunch.

Thanks, nyline, I couldn't agree more, the main reason I like Dignittany, is the civil discourse, you don't have posters ridiculing others, and that is reason enough to post and visit this site. Keep up the good work. " WE ARE "

I think we have a misunderstanding here -- from where I sit (DigNittany World Headquarters -- aka my sofa) no malice or ill intent on anyone's part. Let's put it in the rear view mirror.

Sincere thanks for all the posts encouraging me to return to participating in the DN forum, and to nyline in particular who has just made a transatlantic phone call to me! I did have a couple of days dipping into the VolleyTalk forum but the nastiness on there is off the scale, so I've deleted the site and won't be visiting it again. Nyline and I discussed the new signings, among several other things, and although Rollins and Pritchard are great additions, I do feel for Annie Cate who has come in as a freshman and given her all in front of no fans and now in the fall when fans can return, she will probably not be a starter. I'm a huge fan of AC (and also Jonni Parker) because when I coached my English Schools 16U and 15U champions in the 1980's, there were no liberos so all the key players needed to be good 6 rotation players, which is why I particularly admire them. I really hope that crowd restrictions are lifted when the fall season starts, as I'm hoping to come over again in August or September to see the start of what might be a memorable season.
