Spring Scrimmages

Sad to report that due to the reign of terror of a flu bug running it's way through our team in the days leading up to this weekend, we decided to keep the girls away from each other on the day before their Regional Championships and therefore did not take them to the scrimmage. Would have been nice to see how things are going with all the new players.

Tillie asked about the Pitt Scrimmage. Did anyone go?

As you can see (if you scroll back), this was posted on this thread back on 28 February.  

I'm disappointed that apparently, no one showed up.  At least if they did, they have yet to report.

Oh well.  Maybe next year.  Good things take time.

Spring Volleyball (reporting) is the sucking chest wound of the PSU Volleyball Universe.

Here's a potential contest we could have. Pick what will come first for PSU/Dignittany?

An Eight National Championship, or reliable reporting about Spring Volleyball?

If you go over to VolleyTalk you'll find some posts about the Flint Hill scrimmage on the North Carolina thread.  There's even about 10 seconds of video.  

A modest proposal for spring volleyball.

I have no idea where most of our participants live. If I had to guess, I imagine there's some clustering in the Mid-Atlantic states. Maybe some of you live in or near State College.

We enjoy all the work Nyline performs keeping us informed on recruiting, interviewing subject matter experts, and providing on-site reporting quite a few times during the regular season. Maybe it's time for some to stand up and try to find out what's going on in their "neighborhood." More than one of you likely lives in the Washington, DC metro area. Couldn't one of you have set aside a Saturday afternoon in beautiful Oakton, VA? Or an afternoon in late March at Happy Valley (the best time of the year, I've heard) watching Pitt and PSU scrimmage?

Nobody's gonna pay you to do this, but (channel David Bowie) you could be heroes.

Think about it. It might be fun to gather intelligence (figuring out when and where the scrimmages occur), establishing a collection plan (making plans to attend a scrimmage), and report your findings. We could do this collectively.

Russ Rose has impressed me with how well he controls information. Wouldn't it be neat to find stuff out despite his efforts. Just to be clear, I'm not advocating finding out personal information about players in any way. Just when scrimmages are scheduled.
