Did I hear that right? The 2 players from Hofstra are 6-6 and 6-5. Nice prep for Stanford. Yeah, I thought Plummer was on the court....... Right.

Well, I liked the setting and I liked that our front row did way better at smashing overpasses.
Blossom seems to have good connections with the hitters. Some of the timing appeared to look like mid-season form--is that simply a function of playing a weak opponent? Or might it be something special?

They looked calm and focused, too. Good game!

It will be interesting to see what Nyline picks up from the post-match presser.

Well, in fairness, I don't think mills was saying that the Hofstra players = Plummer. But who knew Hofstra had a 6'6" and a 6'5" player. Not me. I appreciate the info from Mills.

Well, last year's team finished 26-8. This team is basically the same team. Plug in Blossom/Weiskercher, Cathey/Reid, and Gorrell/Leath and everything else stays the same. There is some added experience for the sophomores, but the team really needed a high-caliber outside hitting freshman (like McClendon, Courtney, Frantti) to be in the national title picture. Obviously, that didn't happen. The team will be entertaining and should be competitive with most opponents, but seems destined to be somewhere in the middle of the top half of the B1G. Still a team that is well worth rooting for!

It will be interesting to see what Nyline picks up from the post-match presser. Ethan Kasales is covering as well. From now on, please note that "my slacker staff" does not (and never did) refer to Ethan. He is a reporter, feature writer and photographer for DigNittany, and works unbelievably hard.

Duly noted. I never believed that Ethan was part of Slacker Nation.

I think this season rests on how well Blossom does; she racked up some nice defensive plays last night. She also had a tremendous sliding set in the 3rd set.
Gorrell is a step up from Leath (offensively), and all the DS should cover for Leath's back row passing and defense.
No one will replace Reid's offense (for 3 rotations which she played last year).
