If Russ was unhappy after the win over Michigan State, I can't wait to hear how he feels about this one. I don't know. Russ is always unhappy when the team doesn't play well. Doesn't matter whether they win or lose. Though I do know what you mean. |

I wanted to clear the air about those comments.
I love Russ Rose and I wish he could coach at Penn State another 100 years. During matches I may make a comment that seems sharp or bleak. I'm just pointing out what I see in the excitement of the moment. I don't like to post only positive material;I can appreciate some negativity when it suits the situation.
It's not meant to be disrespectful to coach or to any of the players.
I realize keeping a high level of excellence (i.e., winning all the time) is hard. But as fans, it's the reason we watch these matches.
I appreciate everyone's comments on here, because everyone brings a different point of view. Sometimes it helps you appreciate the game more when you can see it from different angles.

Many of these players should feel humiliated after this loss, but I suspect they don't. I'm glad I don't go to that other volleyball site anymore. I can imagine there were some pretty brutal comments by fans including PSU fans. |

I didn't watch the match. I can tell by the scores things did not go well the last two sets.
I'm reluctant to make any conclusions based on one match. Sometimes in sports everything goes wrong and there just isn't any way for a team to work out of it. A couple more matches like this and I would start to question the recruiting on a yearly basis.
The recruiting has been good in some recent years but maybe not consistent enough year in and year out. I get the feeling there might be more talent in some B1G's front rows than what Russ has available. I wouldn't make it a hard conclusion yet depending how the season plays out. The MBs have played at times at a very high level.
