Pritchard with 6 kills in the 1st set hitting .857; she's really good this year, but still. Myers with 5 kills hitting .714; ridiculous numbers.
Where's our block? From what I can see, the PSU block has been almost uniformly bad in the first set. Don't know if that's because they haven't been watching tape or maybe is something else. Once the first set is over, the blocks start coming (at least in most matches). They seem to adjust to the opponents block. Course, that means that the back row is in trouble in the first set because there isn't much of a block in front of them. It would be interesting to see the hitting percentages of the PSU matches this year in the first set. I also think that there will be a lot more of these type of matches, because this team hasn't learned yet to play at the same level thru-out the whole match. So after some good sets, there more than likely will be some not so good sets. Maryland is also somewhat of a trap match as PSU just isn't up for them and Maryland is REALLY up for PSU. Plus, Maryland is getting better by the year. They've got some good players on their squad.
