She's amazing defensively, digging balls. Maybe she needed the season to improve her passing a bit. She had an exceptional game. When she was paired with Rivera, the team really looked good. I'm glad we are starting to see some player chemistry. I've been waiting to hear something good news like this. Thanks for the update.

While I, too, like the combination of Wilma and Kendall, the numbers don't back up their effectiveness tonight, probably due to two solid servers for NW. On the three rotations with Wilma and Kendall on the floor PSU sided out at 51.4%. The other three rotations sided out at 86.4%.
But the two culprits were likely Morin and Krause who held PSU to a side out percentage of 42.9% by outscoring PSU 16-12 on their serves.
On the other side of the net Penn State's big scorers were Weiskircher and Courtney/Caraway whose serves resulted in a 25-12 PSU edge or a 32.4% side out percentage against them.
One final observation is the reemergence of an effective rotation 1. In addition to outscoring NW on Bryanna's serves 14-6 they yielded only one point to NW in Tashima's 7 trips to the service line.

You and 8M are like Statapalooza -- lean, mean, statistics machines. I love it.

Very nice analysis again. I really enjoying reading this kind of insight you provide. Thank you. I just checked the NU stats and found that Krause and Morin have 50 aces this year which is 43% what their entire team has (117).

It's interesting. This Forum is chugging along nicely. We're getting some great analysis, a fair amount of traffic, some humorous asides, and all the video you could ever want. It may even match the vision of our Great Helmsman (we used to refer to him as Nyline). And in four weeks, the season ends! Damn!

I can only imagine that next year it will be twice as active. Also, you don't have to sift through the endless posts on every thread about Hawaii here, like on VT. No disrespect meant towards any Hawaii fans, just that they are very active (but courteous) on VT.
