Nyline; Are you gonna be in the house? Sadly, no. The price of hotel rooms for football games like the Michigan game is soooooooo exhorbitant, that I choose to let other people use my football tickets for those games. But watching online.

Forgive me for this, because I respect and appreciate 8M's selfless work bringing us meaningful stats. The sideout percentage is not only meaningful, but it's something new for the discussion. It would be interesting for a stat comparison between the two teams since (and including) the last meeting. This might be especially meaningful in light of Coach Rose's comments as to his team's fatigue. Based on their play the last few weeks, the statistical cushion PSU has appears to have less meaning. As a fan, it's nice to have an explanation for PSU's troubles and that the coaching staff is aware. Perhaps, it might be good to sit the most tired of the players for a week. Maybe even the first two rounds of the playoffs? Of course, PSU would have to have a cupcake schedule--for the uninitiated, see the last umpty years of Volleytalk. I'd love to see a PSU win this evening, but a loss would not surprise me. Coach Aird knows a bit about the team and knows Coach Rose pretty well. I have been thinking of doing this. You're correct that it's probably more important to see how each team has been doing as of late. It's also good to hear coach's explanation of why the team since to be regressing as of late. Saves us all hours of conjecture. So, per Gnu2vball's request, here is the sideout % comparison of both teams for their last 5 matches only (since 11/05/15): There is no excuse why PSU shouldn't win this one based off the stats for the last 5 games. 8M, you're not only a saint, but you're a lean, mean, statistical machine.
It's interesting, their set won-loss record and their sideout percentages are virtually identical. PSU still has a sizeable advantage in their opponent's sideout percentage.
Tonight's game should be a 3-0 sweep, just like the one in College Park. We'll see what we see. Like all of you, I hope it's a win.

I'm assuming you meant "just like the one in College Park should have been a 3-0 sweep." And yes, 8M is a lean, mean statistical machine -- couldn't have said it as well (let alone better).

PSU wins 25-20. At least seven, maybe eight Md errors. Win feels good, but too much excitement.

Interesting that coach put Frantti to serve after Weiskircher. She put together a little run.

Announcers saying that Courtney is swinging instead of tipping. Thank God. Sick of seeing them tip like there's no tomorrow.
