If healthy, Megan still is the best player out there and i expect her to rise to the occasion and carry the team to victory as she did in last year's semi-final.

This team doesn't need Megan to do anything special but rather do what she has done the past two nights. What they need, is to play as a "team", which Coach Rose eluded to last night. Everyone does their job and supports the other in doing theirs. We need 3 players to carry the offensive load and it doesn't have to be at the same time. Preferably 1 middle and 2 pin hitters. To me, that is the formula for PSU success the past NC's.

The majority of those posters are Hawaii fans. There is a huge contingent of HI fans on VT and they make their voices known. It seems like many PSU fans have migrated to this forum and post less on VT these days. So yes, you're correct VT is predicting a HI win. Not sure that's gonna happen, I wouldn't bet against PSU on this one. I will admit that I'm really looking forward to this match. I'm curious to see how our team plays.

It was fun watching the Washington fans get quiet on Volleytalk during the 2013 Semi--just as they got quiet in the arena. I'd like to see the same phenomenon on Friday.

I remember being pretty confident that PSU was going to have some matchup advantages - and boy did they. Rose's game plan pretty took VanSant out of the match and when she got frustrated, UW just fell apart. I think UW had such high expectations, they thought being at home would be intimidating, they thought their serve would overwhelm PSU. And then when none of those things worked, midway through the 2nd set they had no fight left.

The Washington fans (not including fans of other schools who were rooting against Penn State) probably outnumbered the Penn State fans by 30 to 1 (or more). By midway through set 2, they didn't have any fight left either. It was a beautiful thing (Penn State's play, that is)

I found this video interview on the PSU website. You all may have seen it, but the part that intrigues me is not what was said as much as who was present. Interesting that coach chose Weiskircher and Frantti to be at the presser. I really believe that those two are the keys to winning this match and future matches. You can bank on the other players (i.e., Courtney, Whitney, Washington) to bring it every game. So the match, in my opinion, hinges upon the success of Weiskircher and Frantti.

I wonder if a statistical genius has ever tried "normalizing" statistics for teams from different conferences? I'd like to think PSU's stats carry more "weight," as they play in a tougher conference. I guess we'll see how things work out Friday.

It seems that Pablo and Rich Kern attempt to normalize the RPI.
